This foam-type air-flow gasket helps to channel the air flow from the blower assembly, through the magnetron cooling fins, and into the antenna compartment. As the air flows into the antenna enclosure, curved fins on the topside of the grease shield direct the blower's propelling air in a swirling motion. This swirling air causes the rotating antenna to turn, thereby diffusing or dispersing the microwave cooking energy evenly throughout the cooking area.
